History
The nondiscrimination ordinance was adopted in a unanimous vote by the Borough Council with 11 – 0 in favor. The meeting where the ordinance was adopted had over 100 members of the public present – as over 30 resident testified on the ordinance over the course of two hours. Jenkintown became the fifth municipality in Montgomery County to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
