Allentown Nondiscrimination Ordinance

Codified Ordinances of Allentown § 181.02

Adopted: April 4, 2002

History

Allentown City Council adopted an inclusive nondiscrimination ordinance in 2002. The Allentown ordinance is the first nondiscrimination law in the state to distinctively reference and protect bias on “gender identity” rather than combine with the definition of sexual orientation. The Allentown City Council voted 5 -2 in favor of the ordinance.
