History
The Erie County Council approved an inclusive nondiscrimination ordinance in 2002 with a 6 – 1 vote. The process to have the County Council adopt this ordinance took several years and a concerted local effort. The ordinance was tabled several times – with more and more residents of Erie County coming out to support its passage. At the final vote, over 100 community supporters were present.
